In 1993, Haukaas Mfg Ltd purchased the Metal Master product design from Terry Friggstad. He is a well known Canadian engineer and industrial tool designer.

While taking up a small amount of floor space, the Metal Master is a winner for a variety of applications. It is used in many ways from fabricating steel clamps in a drilling rig manufacturing facility, to forming stainless steel ladder rungs for a large North American manufacture of garbage disposable trucks. The Metal Master's variety of functions allows it to make its home in many places from factories to maintenance departments, from fab shops to schools. It can also be found in such places as 'on the farm' manufacturing facilities and the two car garage hobbyist.
